We are very pleased to announce our involvement in Together, the first annual northeast electronic music festival, taking place in Boston the week of February 8th-14th! Keeping up with our CMJ showcase tradition we've decided to showcase some of our favorite contemporary tune makers. We've got Plant Music recording artists Tittsworth and Dominique Keegan (one half of the world renowned duo The Glass) to rock your socks off all night! Cue the lights, and hit the bass. Jesse Tittsworth, a party-man DJ with a keen ear for Baltimore club music, will be rocking OMFG! Tittsworth gets clubs in every corner of the world (seriously, from Singapore to São Paulo) grooving to his booty-shaking jams. He released his debut album Twelve Steps on Plant in 2008, to great reviews from URB and The Washington Post. The club-banging tunes are not typical, either; Tittsworth infuses conventions of electro and hip-hop, giving his mixes a culinary touch. The delicious beats blend with a bumping hip-hop feel, and go perfectly with a pinch of synth. (Turns out Tittsworth is apparently also talented in an actual kitchen, serving up hot steaming scorpions and sautéed larva. Talk about talent!) Do not miss this performance, unless you think Tittsworth's kitchen is too hot for you! |

You hear that? That pounding bass? That sexy and somehow ambivalent drawl? You hear the delightful spice of synthesizers? The beat that's already starting to make you sweat? That means Dominique Keegan is spinning! Keegan, originally from Dublin and one half of electro-house super group The Glass, has always had an impeccable taste in music. He founded Plant Music in the '90s when he moved to New York and has been DJing and releasing records ever since. Dominique opened Plant Bar in New York in 2000 and it became the spot in New York to hear great underground music and DJ talent from around the globe -- its legacy sadly ending in 2004. He continues to tour on his own and with The Glass, while simultaneously running Plant back at home in New York, with artists like Eli Escobar, Kap10Kurt, Tittsworth, NROTB and more. Wherever Keegan DJs, a dance party is sure to start. Do not be left out! |
